Lecturer Fatma Rabia AKCATEMIZ, PhD(c)
Completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in the Department of Food Engineering. For her master's thesis, she focused on the development of new food products and their shelf life determination in collaboration with the university and industry. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD at Ondokuz Mayıs University in the Department of Neurosciences. She has also completed the Microbiota and The Brain Course at the Neuroscience School of Advanced Studies.
Career in Business
In 2013, she received the Entrepreneurship Certificate. She worked as a Food Engineer and Cost Accounting Officer at Can Catering Company in 2017. In 2018, she served as an Incorporation and Entrepreneurship Specialist for the Individual Young Entrepreneurship Program at Samsun Technopark. She contributed to the execution of the Samsun Technopark Pre-Incubation acceleration program. By 2020, she managed the Academic Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program at Ondokuz Mayıs University Technology Transfer Office. During her tenure at Samsun Technopark and Ondokuz Mayıs University, she was involved in preparing and executing many project proposals and in the execution and reporting of Technology Development Zone activities.
In 2021, she was appointed as a lecturer at Sinop University and was assigned as Deputy Coordinator at the Technology Transfer Office. She participated in the preparation of project proposals and served as the executive director of the SOGEP Project. She provides training and mentoring on Business Model Development, Business Idea and Project Idea Development using Design Thinking Methodology, Entrepreneurship, Industrial Property Rights, Project Writing and Execution, and Business Development. From 2021-2022, she was the Director of the Junior Chamber International Grant Program. In 2024, she received the Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP) certificate, an international professional qualification in the field of Technology Transfer. She is also one of the 12 individuals selected for the Future Innovation Leaders Fellowship 2024.

Combining her academic and business expertise, she aims to develop new food products that benefit our intestines and brain. To share her research findings, she established the website GutBrainStories.com, where she publishes summaries of her extensive research reports for a broader audience.
